Sooners rush to 26-7 win over Gamecocks

In its first true SEC road game of the season Oklahoma finally found its rushing game, led by RB Tory Blaylock, who started the Sooners off with an 18-yard touchdown run to end a 75-yard opening drive.

The Sooners never looked back. With a dominant defense that had Gamecocks QB LaNorris Sanders scrambling all day, Oklahoma went on to a 26-7 win in its first ever appearance in the state of South Carolina.

Blaylock finished the day with 101 yards on 19 carries. Xavier Robinson had 58 yards on 11 carries.

It was an important win for Oklahoma, coming off the previous week’s disappointing loss to Texas (where they managed just 48 yards rushing) and a week before a strong Mississippi team comes to Norman. The Sooners are now 6-1, with a 2-1 SEC record.

“I saw a hungry and angry football team…they were hangry,” Coach Brent Venables in his post-game interview.

Extremely disappointed in the outcome of the game against texas.

Going in, I thought it could go either way because texas has a lot of talent, and their two loses only made them more dangerous as they would be desperate. I thought it would probably come down to
who had the ball last.

Instead, the Sooner offense turned in their worst showing of the year and wasted another strong performance by the defense. They have now not touched the endzone against the longhorns in two full games. Let that sink in.

Sooners to be exposed to backwoods couture

Down south we go, where the “Fowl” Winds blow!

Bonjour, mon Ami! Yes, your fair Fashionista has made it home from the Great White North. Though I did have a bit of a struggle entering the country from Canada.

Once the uniformed henchmen realized how wonderfully I was dressed, they demanded I give them some fashion tips to make their own dreary regalia more becoming. I was not sure their commanding officers were going to sign off on the new look until one walked in wearing a charming hot pink beret!

I left them beaucoup Crimson and Cream accoutrement before heading south.

Now, where was I? Oh, yes! South Carolina. How very backwoods! And with a mascot that represents a misdemeanor. Of course, we are the Sooners, so I shall say no more on the subject.
