Bad blood and all, which OU team will show up against Texas Tech Red Raiders?

In keeping with the Halloween season the Sooners have come to resemble this classic. How in the world can they look so inept in the Cotton Bowl and so perfect in Manhattan? It’s beyond me.

But everything went OU’s way in dismantling Snyder’s boys in the Little Apple. Offense, defense, players and coaches could do no wrong. It helped a little bit that for some reason the Wildcats came out trying to throw the ball all over the field. First of all, that’s not even remotely their strength. And secondly, did they not watch the tape from OU’s debacle in Dallas? Texas ran all over us. Why would you at least not try that first?

I guess I could understand trying to catch the Sooners off guard, but they know their QB can’t throw the ball. Very strange. And by the middle of the second quarter it was too late to try anything else. Game was over.

Anyway, a great game for the Sooners, which now begs the question, which Oklahoma team shows up to play Texas Tech Saturday afternoon at Owen Field?

Tech is coming off a lackluster performance against Kansas in Lawrence. So you would think they would have some fire in their belly to right the ship.

The question becomes: which Sooner team will show up on Saturday? The one that fell apart against Texas or the one that dismantled K-State?

And there is also the fact that they are the second leading offense in the nation. Their QB Mahomes is lighting up scoreboards with regularity. He is accurate and can scramble for yards when he needs too.

Their defense is nothing to write home about, but they are better than your typical Red Raider defenses of the past.

There is also the Kingsbury/ Mayfield factor. If you will recall Kingsbury refused to release Baker Mayfield from whatever situation/agreement was in place when Mayfield wanted to transfer from Tech to Oklahoma. As a result the NCAA made Mayfield sit out all of 2014 and lose a year of eligibility before he could play for the Sooners.

Look, no one really knows what went on, who was promised what or not promised what except for Kingsbury and Mayfield. But regardless of what they both say now, there is bad blood between them.

Does this give Mayfield and the Sooners an advantage? Are they extra fired up for this game? Is Kingsbury also fired up?

Probably both are, to tell you the truth. So Oklahoma is going to have to bring their “K-State game” this Saturday against Tech. This one should be wild. That is why the Worry Meter is at 75% this week. So will it be Jekyll or Hyde this weekend?

With all that being said…BOOMER!!!
