The athletic director for Utah State, which comes to Norman to play the Sooners on September 4, has responded to the Western Athletic Conference departure of Nevada and Fresno State in a statement released today.
Scott Barnes said the WAC’s loss of the two schools would have a negative impact on Utah State and leave the remaining nine programs in a position of uncertainty. Earlier this week BYU announced plans to leave the Mountain West Conference and rejoin the WAC in all sports except football.
