Defense has motivation against Baylor

by

The Sooners bounced back in fine fashion after the Notre Dame debacle.  Iowa St. is not a great team by any stretch, but they are dangerous in Ames.  Huge performances by the Cali trio and Landry Jones made short work of the Cyclones.

Which brings us to Norman this Saturday when the Baylor Bears come to town to try and beat Oklahoma for the second year in a row.

Gone are Heisman winner RGIII and wide out Kendall Wright, two first day NFL draft picks.  However, quarterback Nick Florence and the Baylor offense can still score points in bunches.  So the Sooner defense will be tested, but I think they are up to the challenge.

Mike Stoops has revamped the secondary that was torched last year in Waco and they are out for revenge.  Javon Harris said he still watches that game and has been looking forward to this match up for redemption.  No way does Baylor score more than in the twenties this Saturday.

But if for some reason the OU defense stumbles, it still won’t matter.  The Baylor defense is awful.  As in last in divison one college football awful.  The Sooner offense should score at least sixty in this game and roast the Bears.

As such the worry meter is only at 10% this week.  If this game is close after the third quarter, something’s wrong.

With all that being said…BOOMER!!!

Also want to say rest in peace Darrell Royal.  OU All American under Bud Wilkinson who went on to coach Texas to national prominence.  The Longhorns play in Darrell Royal stadium now.  It took an Oklahoma Sooner to teach Texas how to play football.  Once again…BOOMER!!!  — Dave
