Dave’s Worry Meter: ZERO

DAVE'S WORRY METER
0 Percent!

As the final seconds of the A&M game ticked down I received a text from a buddy of mine.  It simply said, “I just don’t understand”.

I can’t think of any better way to put it than he did.  And the problem is I don’t think the coaches or players understand it either.  I think it’s beyond anyone as to why OU can play so well at home and so lousy on the road.

So though it is out of character for me, I am setting the worry meter at zero percent this week.

You heard that right.  ZERO percent worried.

I am convinced that OU will beat Texas Tech Saturday afternoon for one simple reason.  The game is being played on Owen Field.  The home field advantage OU enjoys is so strong for some reason that I am also convinced that if we played Missouri and A&M at home, we win both games by at least two touchdowns.  That’s not sour grapes.  That’s a fact. Heck, bring in Auburn, Oregon or Alabama.  You would be a fool not to pick OU straight up on Owen Field against ANYBODY.  That is what makes the two defeats on the road, to average teams at best, so frustrating.

So once again the worry meter is getting a break Saturday thanks to a home game.  But don’t worry (ha! ha!) it will again be in the red the next two weeks.  With all that being said…BOOMER!  — Dave
