Dear Soonerguys,

I am personally grateful for the change in the football game schedule this year.  The stress of anticipating the big in-state rivalry at the end of the season has always made my head ache and my stomach churn.

This way, we get the big game out of the way early. Plus we have the added advantage of coming off a big win and they’re still whining about their late game loss last week.

To their credit, I’ve noticed our rivals have finally revised their mascot drastically.

Sorry to bring up mascots again, but it seems important this time of the year.  After all, Halloween is just around the corner according to Wal-Mart.  “Pistol Pete” has always been the ugliest mascot in the history of mascots (followed closely by the Wichita State “Shocker” and the guys that paint themselves blue at Dallas Cowboy games).
