Sooners win, 41-25, but oh at what a price

by

The Sooners began their next home winning streak Saturday night, with a 41-25 victory over Texas A&M.

But, they also saw the career end for the most prolific wide receiver in NCAA history.

All-American Ryan Broyles, the NCAA’s career leader in receptions, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the season.

He got hurt while cutting to make his second catch of the game, a 30-yarder that set up one of four third-quarter touchdowns in the Sooners’ 41-25 victory Saturday.

“It’s just a bad deal,” quarterback Landry Jones said. “You hate for something like that to happen to such a good guy.”

Aggies deserve a beat down

I really can’t figure this Sooner team out.

They lose to a mediocre Tech team in Norman that then got whipped by Iowa St. in Lubbock.

Then OU goes on the road and hammers an undefeated K-State team that they always have trouble with because of old man Snyder.

I don’t get it.

I really hope that they’re back on track for Texas A&M because I do not want to lose the last game we play against those guys.

Stoops and the boys need to give them a nice goodbye gift in the form of a 30 point beat down.

Just a crappy night all around.

I guess we should have seen it coming when we started to hear about all the injuries during the week. Four starters out by the time the game kicked off.

That’s almost 20% of the starting 22. (Reminded me alot of the West Virginia Fiesta Bowl).

On top of that you add a hungry Tech team, a Sooner team that might have read too many of their press clippings, and a 90 minute weather delay and you get the perfect storm. Perfect for Tech anyway.

But in the end their should be no excuses and there is plenty of blame to go around. Offense, defense, special teams and coaching were all at fault.
