Our eight Soonerguys experts have put on their thinking caps and offered up their predictions for today’s college football games:
Florida State vs Oklahoma State: Everybody picks the ‘Noles. No brainer here.
UCLA at Virginia: All but one go with the Bruins. All but Gerald, who thinks Virginia will win. Really?
West Virginia at Alabama: No Big 12 loyalty here All go with the Crimson Tide to bounce back against the Mountaineers.
It’s finally almost here. Another glorious season of Sooner football! It’s been a rough past month. But in the end, what will happen will happen and you just strap on the helmets and play ball. And that of course, is what we are all looking forward to.
But to begin with, as this is my first article since before last season’s Bedlam game, I want to offer my thoughts on how the year year wrapped up with the Bedlam Bell and Sugar Bowl trophies neatly tucked away in the trophy case.
Let’s start with the cowpukes in Stillwater. Now, I heard a lot of talk about Sooner Magic after that contest. And to be fair, it was very impressive how our boys drove the field in under two minutes to win the game with our third quarterback of the game.
But make no mistake about it. That WAS NOT Sooner Magic. That was what was supposed to happen! That was the natural order of things! That was what has happened over 80 percent of the time in a series that dates back over a hundred years! It’s what every sane poke fan knows will almost always happen!
The first Bedlam contest of the season was a solid 2-0 win for the Sooner women on the soccer field Friday night.
Oklahoma’s two goals were scored by sophomore Rachel Ressler and junior Devin Barrett. Also, Caren Nelson led all Sooners with four shots on the night.
The Bedlam victory was also a milestone for head coach Matt Potter, giving him his 100th career coaching win after amassing 88 victories at Washington State before coming to Norman.
