We can talk about the Oklahoma-Kent State if you want. But this is now officially the “Red River Rivalry/Shoot/Out/Who will be the Sooners’ starting QB Week,” so is there really any need?

Yes, Oklahoma soundly whipped an undermanned Kent State team 44-0, giving the Sooners’ their first fumble recovery for a TD, first interception and first shut out for the season on a sunny day in Norman.

His defenses ranked in the 50’s the first two years. Then in the third year they were a top 10 unit, and consistently stayed there throughout his time with the Tigers.

He is head coach now, so he has many more things that need his attention. Also, we need to realize that the Sooners lost more talent than anyone is willing to admit through graduation and the transfer portal.
