Former
President Bill Clinton
addresses a packed OU
Fieldhouse on January 30 in
Norman on the campaign trail
for Hillary.
"I
would vote for Obama,
because he's cool. I would
vote for Clinton, but she's
not as cool." -- Hunter.
Soonerguys'
guide to Super Tuesday
Candidates as
Sooner fans
You
can't say the Soonerguys team is just a
bunch of football nuts. We have intellectual
pursuits as well, including this "season's"
competition for the White House. To educate
the masses we have compiled a survey of the
candidates and obtained their views of
importance. So, in honor of our
American way of life, we share the
following:
REPUBLICANS
"I will support the Sooners
for 100 years, if that's
what it takes" -- John
McCain (who says Attila
the Hun was too liberal).
"I'm all for the Sooners.
Even though four years ago I
voted against them." --
Mitt Romney (who says
Josef Stalin was too
liberal).
Meanwhile, see Mittie jivin'.
"I was a Sooner supporter
through the crisis of
9/11and
Schnellenberger" -- Rudy
Giuliani (known for
arriving late to all games,
then leaving before the 4th
quarter). Last week he left
the race.
"I believe in the Sooners.
But, all season ticket
purchases should be made in
gold." -- Ron Paul.
If elected, he would be the
first president to have two
first names.
"The Bible says support the
Sooners. Both Chuck Norris
and I approve that message."
-- Mike Huckabee.
Huckabee, who pardoned Keith
Richards, made his first
Oklahoma campaign stop at
Coach's restaurant in
Bricktown just so he could
see the pic of Steve Owens
with the Rolling Stones.
See Alex's report on
Huckabee's Oklahoma
appearance here.
DEMOCRATS
"I have 35 years of
experience being a Sooner
fan. It hurts that anyone
(Obama) would say different
(*sob*)." -- Hillary
Clinton.
"I will fight the
corporations that are taking
away the club level seating.
Boomer! (smile)." --
John Edwards.
"I
think we can be more
peaceful the way we treat
our visiting fans." --
Dennis Kucinich
(former candidate, just
before he got on the alien
spaceship).
"It's time for a change.
There is no reason we cannot
make the Sooners the best
team in the land -- again."
-- Barack Obama.
Note, Obama was the leading
scorer for Division III
basketball team Occidental
College in 1979.
OTHERS
"I won't be attending the
opening game this fall. But,
David, when is it, where is
it, and how do I get there?"
-- Michael Bloomberg.
OUR ENDORSEMENT:
SOONERGUY
RUNS FOR NORMAN CITY COUNCIL
We claim Norman's Chebon Marshall,
not just because he owes us money (OK,
that's a joke), but because we like him;
regardless, he's vying for Norman City
Council in the March 4 election.
We are sure with our endorsement that he is
a shoe in. However, he reminds us that our
endorsement of the Sooners in Glendale,
Arizona didn't work out so well, so he's
apparently telling folks he's never heard of
us.
OK..that's smart. We can go with that.
Still, vote for him.

'Better Norman' blog.
