The management

Hunter, President and CEO

Second baseman extraordinaire on Norman High JV baseball team. Popular Italian-blooded ladies man. Well, for a kid. Plans to own his own Major League franchise some day. Until then, he uses his charm and wit to succeed in 9th grade.

Alex, VP and CFO

Writer and musician turned political hack who wears worn out hats.  Campaign organizer for U.S. Senate candidate in another state that begins with the letter "O".  (Apparently Oregon is next).  As soon as he was named Soonerguys national correspondent he asked for a raise.

The staff

Mike, Dir. of Operations

Former pool boy now slovenly over-weight lawyer.  Thinks fine cuisine is Taco Bell.  Sometimes wears tie to look important. In charge of making sure Soonerguys.com is updated (so, this is the guy to blame).

Tim, Chief Animator and writer of funny things

See pic?, 'nuf said. Despite his disability, Tim is the creator of the animated Adventures of Soonerguy (we really think his sidekick Madame "M" is the creator, but this pic was too much to pass up so we put him on here instead).

The rest who make Soonerguys work

Our history

This website was founded in December 1999 as a preview of Oklahoma's first bowl appearance under Coach Bob Stoops. The next year it was launched as a way of reporting our family's Orange Bowl national championship trip to Miami back to friends and relatives. Then things got out of hand.  Extended friends and family wanted more. As Coach Switzer says, we were just feeding a monster.

Soonerguys.com was chosen as the new URL by 2000 and, well, the rest is history.

In 2006 the site was featured on KWTV News9, and we received 8,000 unique hits in the first hour. In 2008 Oklahoma City station FOX25 featured our chief animator, Tim, in a story about The Adventures of Soonerguy.

We have now taken our site to eight bowl games (four national championship games) -- literally from one coast to the other -- and various away venues, including at Tuscaloosa, Boulder, College Station, South Bend,  Chicago and yes, even Tulsa and Waco.

Of course the highlight is the annual Oklahoma-Texas Red River Rivalry at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Alex has experienced the Cotton Bowl tunnel first hand as a trumpet player in the Pride in 2003-2004 (both wins). Hunter will be making his fifth OU-Texas game in 2009.

We enjoy putting this site together. But we enjoy most the experiences we write about.  As you can tell, this all about family and friends.

See you on Saturdays in Norman!
