Dave: Sooners need to take their new-found consistency to Provo

Will the real Oklahoma Sooners please stand up?

After 2 road games in which Oklahoma played like it was, well…. last year, the Sooners ran a decent West Virginia team off the field Saturday night to the tune of 59-20.

Everything clicked against the Mountaineers in a contest that Brent Venables called probably their most complete game of the season. They truly played complimentary football.

After the defense let West Virginia roll down the field to score a touchdown on their opening drive while
averaging over nine yards a play, they shut the door. The rest of the game the Mountaineers struggled
gaining four yards a play and making only four third-down conversions.

Dave: Despite back-to-back losses, Sooners are on the right track

The past two weeks we have been reminded that the Sooners are only in the second year of a large
cultural change in Oklahoma Football.

First Kansas and now little brother.

Although we all know that little brother had more than a little help to defeat the Sooners for just the 20th time out of almost 120 tries.

And that lopsided record in favor of the Sooners is why this series is not a rivalry and will not be missed.

Although I do understand that it is little brother’s Super Bowl every year. Maybe they can get a
home and home with Tulsa going. They might have better luck.

Dave: Sooner ‘D’ faces new challenge against potent UCF offense

In the pre-game interview with texas coach Steve Sarkisian he said he just wanted his team to have fun and play good football. 

Rece Davis mentioned that texas said they have a “business like approach” to the game. 

Now of course we don’t know what goes on in the texas locker room that may be different from the public face they are portraying.  

However, I can tell you that from the actual OU locker room video before that game, the Sooners seem to take a much different approach to this contest.
