A week after squeeking by Texas, Sooners face a tougher Kansas State

DAVES-LOGO-copyAny win over the longhorns is cause for celebration because of the history and tradition of the rivalry.  Saturday’s victory was also as frustrating as all get out.

The Sooners turned a 30-point blowout into a 5-point last play of the game squeeker.

Four turnovers will do that.  Although it was really three turnovers.  I’m not counting the interception where our receiver was tackled by two longhorns while running his route.

I really try to believe that officials aren’t out to sway a game one way or the other.  But that was getting a little ridiculous Saturday.

But again it was a win over texas and you never take that for granted.  And to do it while losing several key players on defense to injury makes it that much more gratifying.

Hopefully we get some players back because coming home for the first time in a month to play Kansas St. this Saturday will not be easy.

Everyone knows the Wildcats are well coached and disciplined.  Turn the ball over four times against them and they’ll beat our ass.

Their offense is pretty one dimensional as they really can’t throw the ball down the field.  But they will try to pound the running game and grind out the clock to keep our offense off the field.

Did you know OU has not beaten Kansas St. in Norman since 2009?  This is not a gimme.  The Sooners will need to play their best game so far this year to win.

And when we do have the ball, we will be facing what most people think to be the best defense in the Big 12.

A Bill Snyder team will try and wear you down and make you make the mistakes.  And if we do, it will be a long day.

So the Worry Meter is still spiking at 90% this week.  With all that being said… BOOMER!!!!
