K-State QB Ertz out for season

by

ertzconfirmed Monday that the worst-case scenario came true: New starting quarterback Jesse Ertz is out indefinitely with a knee injury. The Kansas City Star is reporting Ertz is likely to miss the remainder of the season.

That’s a rough loss for this offense. Ertz showed real playmaking ability during K-State’s four-man QB race and had the potential to really surprise Big 12 defenses this season.

“We will miss him,” Snyder said on the weekly Big 12 teleconference. “We feel badly about the loss, and he will be there. He has been a wonderful individual for us, very representative of our value system, of our team and really developing as a leader.

“I am quite confident he will stay invested in what we are doing and will be very helpful to all of his teammates. We will move on.”
