Tulsa defeated Tulane 38-31 in their season opener. The Golden Hurricane plays in the American Athletic Conference, formerly Conference USA.
Oklahoma is 18-7-1 against Tulsa. Tulsa last won this game in 1996, 31-24, in the low point of the Sooners' program during the John Blake years. Oklahoma last played in Tulsa in 2007, winning 62-21.
Coach: Bill Blankenship. Blankenship is in his fourth season at TU, with a 24-17 record. He served as the coach of Tulsa's Union High School for 14 years, compiling a 154-26 record until 2005. Union won the state Class 6A championship seven 2002, 2004, and 2005.
Famous Tulsa alum: Phil McGraw (a/k/a "Dr. Phil"); radio commentator Paul Harvey; and actress Rue McClanahan.
