THIS AND THAT FROM TWO-A-DAYS…
Two days after Coach Bob Stoops welcomed suspended receivers Jaz Reynolds and Trey Franks back onto the team, he announced the permanent dismissal of the third receiver who had been suspended during the off-season, Kameel Jackson. When Jackson was suspended for violation of team rules earlier in the summer he responded by posting on Twitter his intention to Texas A&M. Then he changed his mind. Upon further review at the start of preseason camp, coach Bob Stoops decided for whatever reason that Jackson would be the one who had to go.

Meanwhile, after only a day of two-a-day practices, Stoops said the defensive line “might be better than some think,” singling out DE Chuka Ndulue.

Junior defensive back Aaron Colvin will return to the corner back position, where he shined as a freshman in 2010, Coach Mike Stoops said. Meanwhile (Mike) Stoops said, of the much-maligned secondary: “We’re tired of hearing what happened a year ago. Now it’s time to do something about it.”

OL Nila Kasatati had heart surgery for a non-life threatending condition. He’s expected to return to practice within a week or two.
